This introductory course was developed and designed to help individuals learn the fundamental core principles of the competitive sports agent business, to provide the necessary skills to work within the business, and to introduce various paths to networking with industry leaders to land a client or job opportunity. Whether you are beginning to inquire about what it takes to become a sports agent, have always wanted to become a sports agent but do not know how, or want to learn about this fascinating industry, The Sports Agent Experience will allow you to learn the business and network with leading industry professionals.

Individuals will dive into the daily tasks and responsibilities of a sports agent and compare and contrast how small, medium, and large sports agencies operate. This course will prepare individuals to get registered and certified as a sports agent through the various regulatory boards. Sports agent rules and regulations will be introduced as special emphasis will be paid to acting ethically as a sports agent. Additionally, the following topics will be covered: player recruiting, athlete marketing, contract negotiations, player management, and sports agent networking. Finally, individuals will zoom in on the MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLS collective bargaining agreements and compare and contrast them.

Individuals who complete the requirements of this course will earn a special certificate of completion. The certificate of completion is independent of the Graduate Certificate or Master’s Degree requirements.

Sports Agent University was founded to respond to the need for those who would like to become a sports agent and need guidance from industry leaders. At Sports Agent University, we believe in creating positive experiences and teaching the business in hopes of teaching the next great sports agent.

Certificate of Completion

The introductory course, The Sports Agent Experience, was developed by leading professionals in the sports agent space and have been constructed in a way so that members can learn and obtain the knowledge that they would need to succeed in the sports agent business. After completing all core sections, members will be ready to take the final examination. The final examination is comprehensive and will test a member’s knowledge on all core sections. Upon completing the course, members will be awarded a certificate of completion acknowledging their mastery of the course material.

Sports Agent Mastery

This course expands on the introductory course, The Sports Agent Experience (SAU-5104), and examines additional topics that are relevant in the athlete representation business. Individuals will learn how to apply the core principles from the introductory course to athletes in non-team sports such as golf, tennis, and the Olympics. An extensive overview of the global aspect of the sports agent field will be introduced, including cricket, rugby, and soccer.
